Plus even if we are, we can't assume it was done out of malice, Twitch's only reason to make a recommended sort is to tackle a Discoverability issue. Twitch simply just propagates its pre-existing communities, does not let niches cross-polinate, and it's completely impossible to naturally find Dota streams. if you fit some other predetermined metric, which might be disappoint ones at that, say, RU user = show Dota, US user = No Dota ever. You could only ever be shown Dota if you already watched Dota. what would someone have to do to be potentially interested in Dota? Remember back when they showed "communities" and had dota completely separate from the rest of the entire website (as did some other smaller games, but none of them big enough to be noticeable)? Well, if they use that as the entire basis of what interests a user could have, then. I feel like the default sorting could still be quietly and indirectly shunning dota.
